WSDC

Indonesia began to compete in the World Schools Debating Championships in 2001 in South Africa, winning the Best New Team Award. Indonesian teams have broken three times into the knockouts, in 2003, 2004 and 2014. The backbone of the two first successful teams consisted of Siti Astrid Kusumawardhani (SMA Al-Izhar Jakarta), Sahil Mahtani (Sekolah Pelita Harapan Karawaci) and Putu Sanjaya (SMA Kanisius Jakarta), who debated in both years. In 2014, Regina Cara Riantoputra (SMA 2 Tangerang Selatan), John Amadeo (Raffles International School Jakarta), Alif Azadi (SMA Modal Bangsa Aceh), Marsa Harisa (SMA 9 Yogyakarta) and Kevin Bonaparte (SMA 17 Makassar) joined the club and even scored the best win-loss record by an Indonesian team. In 2013, Indonesia bagged the Best English-as-Foreign-Language Team award. In 2014, Regina Cara Riantoputra emerged as the Best EFL Speaker. 2014 Bangkok, Thailand

Regina Cara Riantoputra <72.37> was #17 on the main list and John Amadeo <71.62> was #39, the highest and second best rank for Indonesia so far. Cara also was the Best EFL Speaker while Ali Azadi <71.26> was #6EFL. John was also #6ESL.

2013 Antalya, Turkey
