Prepared Motions for ALSA UI E-Comp (High School)

ALSA UI English Competition's high school category is seen as the unofficial tournament to find Indonesia's best high school team and debaters of the year. Many former champions have continued to represent Indonesia in WSDC or excel at the varsity debating scene. It is the longest-running for its category by far and attracts schools from outside Java just like IVED for universities. Here are the motions for the three prepared rounds in the coming 2011 ALSA E-Comp (HS).

  • EDUCATION
THW ban ethnic-based student organizations.
THW not allow teachers' union to strike.
THW criminalize service providers that do assignments for students.

  • TECHNOLOGY
THW ban any electronic devices applications that offend sexual preference.
TH regrets the US court’s verdict on Google’s online library plans.
THBT Japan should give up on nuclear technology.

  • SPORTS
THW open third gender category sports games.
THW establish a city to host Olympic Games permanently.
THBT FIFA should be made democratic.

  1. This championship is challenge for university student to be an active student and also to enlarge their knowledge in debating, it would be greatest one if committee invites all of universities in Indonesia, why? because you just invited several universities in Java but you do not invite any university in Madura island.

  2. Hi Zainuddin, you can send your suggestions directly to the organizers via their website http://www.alsaecomp.org/. And Madura schools should join the active East Java debating community. You guys are only a bridge trip away anyway from Surabaya.
