Two varsity debating competitions will start tomorrow in separate Java cities with unique sets of participants. The 2011 English Parade, held in Malang by Universitas Brawijaya's Faculty of Administration, restricts the participation of debaters from outside the provinces of East Java, Central Java and Yogyakarta. A debater who comes from schools beyond the determined border still can join but needs to team up with 2 students from the tri-province region.
The second one is the 2011 Newbies at Universitas Indonesia in Depok that is exclusively for students who have no varsity debating experience. Young talents may emerge from this tournament and become the next generation of debating stars. Both competitions will use the 3-on-3 format.
