ALSA UI E-Comp and UMM English Fiesta, the two tournaments that will take place at the same time from April 28 to May 3, have decided to take different paths as the former revealed prepared motions for three of its rounds today while the latter announced it would only field impromptu motions.
ALSA UI E-Comp's prepared motions for varsity category are as follows:
- ECONOMY
THW abolish all conditions of development aid for war-torn countries.
THB in austerity to survive in times of financial crisis.
THBT EU and US should abolish their subsidies on agricultural commodities.
- LAW
THW hold gun manufacturers liable for crimes committed by third parties using their firearm products.
THW stop plea bargaining in criminal court.
THBT Supreme Court judges should be democratically elected by the society.
- INTERNATIONAL SECURITY
THW make aid inversely proportionate with military spending.
THBT conscription of child soldiers by their parents is justified in the war for freedom.
THBT UN should take side against oppressive regimes who have lost the legitimacy of their people.
