All debaters from Indonesian debating giants Institut Teknologi Bandung (3 teams) and Universitas Indonesia (2 teams) failed to proceed to the knockouts of the ALSA Unpad E-Challenge while all three squads from another powerhouse Universitas Gadjah Mada and two teams from up-and-coming Universitas Bakrie sailed into the quarterfinals of this 3-on-3 tournament. This rare storyline showed the excitement and cut-throat competition in the event that is known as the stage for freshers. The break list reads as follows:
