ITB Win 2011 SEO, Best Speaker Prize Goes to 3 Debaters

Institut Teknologi Bandung A (Luthfi Abdurrahman & Karina Soedjatmiko) won the 2011 Southeast Asian English Olympics final debate by beating Universitas Indonesia A (Ahdiat Permana & Roderick Sibarani), Universitas Bina Nusantara (Radite Adjie & Sabaruddin Adinugroho) and ITB B (Rifan Ibnu Rahman & Andhika Nugraha). The motion in the final was "This House Would Ban Celebrations of Martyrs".

ITB A's Luthfi Abdurrahman also grabbed the best speaker award along with Ahdiat Permana and Roderick Sibarani from UI A who all collected the same number of points. SEO had more than 60 varsity and high school teams, including squads from Malaysia and Thailand. Cambridge University's Sam Block, who will be the Chief Adjudicator for the 2012 WUDC, was among the star judges invited to bolster the adjudication core at SEO.

Lampung's STBA Teknokrat won the novice category while Universitas Gadjah Mada's Fildza Nabila was the best novice speaker. The motion in the novice break final was "This House Believes That Developing Countries Should Ban Family Members of the Head of Government from Running for the Same Position".
