After championing a tournament two years ago representing Institut Teknologi Bandung, Rifan Ibnu Rahman and Alris Alfharisi joined forces again to win the 2014 English Parade in Malang today under the team name 'Sirla'. Rifan graduated a few months after the 2012 victory at the International Public Speaking and Debate Competition at Jakarta's London School of Public Relations while Alris is still a student. The ex-ITB debater also topped the speaker tab.
In the final, they defeated opponents from reigning champion Universitas Gadjah Mada (Muhammad Fidhzariyan & Sufi Adenda), host Universitas Brawijaya (Muhammad Fahri & Leiditya Naristi) and a hybrid team consisting of Universitas Bakrie veteran debater Aryo Febrian (Universitas Bakrie) and his mentee Septian Wijayanti from Politeknik Negeri Malang.
