IVED 2012: Motions & Some Results from R1

Media-related topics kicked off the 15th Indonesia Varsities English Debate at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. R1 started more than an hour late from schedule while until 2 pm R2 motions have not been launched, suggesting R3, the last round of the day, would not end before nightfall. Here are some details from the opening debates.

Motions:
TH condemns reality shows that use poverty as their main theme
THW oblige broadcasting companies to provide balanced coverage of the political spectrum for all news
THBT the state should provide assistance to the poorest 20% of the population so that they can obtain free subscription of printed media of their choice
