UADC 2013: ITB Triumphant in All-Bandung EFL Final

#1EFL Institut Teknologi Bandung 1 (Alris Alfharisi, M. Arifian Adin, Vicario Reinaldo) championed the English-as-Foreign Language category of the 2013 United Asian Debating Championships in Manila last night to match the achievement of their seniors three years ago in the 1st UADC. They defeated  #3EFL Universitas Parahyangan 1 (Ignatius Ivan, Josefhine Chitra, Revian Wirabuana) in what was not only the fourth consecutive all-Indonesian UADC EFL final but also the first time all teams in a major international final came from the city of Bandung.  

ITB 1 successfully knocked down the motion "This House Would Abolish Welfare Services for the Poor and Give Them the Equivalent in Cash Instead" although Unpar freshman Revian Wirabuana gave the best speech in that match. Both teams collected 4 wins and 4 losses in the preliminary stage. No Indonesian team managed to break into the main knockouts that had 16 teams from only 3 countries - Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.
