Universitas Gadjah Mada debaters have found fortune this year in nationwide competitions held at Universitas Padjadjaran in Bandung. Last February, they created an all-UGM final in the ALSA Unpad E-Challenge. Today, #2 UGM A (Dianty Widyowati & Indriani Pratiwi) championed the 2013 National Debate Competition-National Economic Seminar after defeating #1 Universitas Indonesia A (Roderick Sibarani & Rachmat Nugraha), #6 Universitas Brawijaya A (Nur Rizki Oceano & Queentries Regar) and schoolmates #4 UGM C (Romario Tambunan & Wida Wahyuni).It was the first time NDC-NES used the British Parliamentary format after years being known as a 3-on-3 competition that had economics-themed motions. UI's Roderick Sibarani took home the best speaker award.
