Debaters from SMA Modal Bangsa who traveled from the westernmost province of Aceh led the break list in the high school category of the 2014 ALSA UI English Competition. It is the first team from outside Bali that could achieve the feat since 2010. For the last three years, teams from Bali island had the best preliminary round record and cruised all the way to the throne. There is still a chance for a Bali school to continue that streak as a team from powerhouse SMA 4 Denpasar broke second. The elimination rounds start tomorrow.
