JOVED 2011: Undefeated Undip Tops Break List

Universitas Diponegoro, a school that has never won the Java Overland Varsities English Debate before, broke first into the elimination round of this year's edition. Undip A (Satrio Adi Pratama, Rizky Akita, Edward Sutanto) won all of their 6 preliminary debates.

The competition in the 15th JOVED has been tight so far with only 5 teams out of 60 with more than 4 wins. The second day of prelims featured motions on economics, environment and law. Motions on international relations, security and current affairs have yet to emerge.

Universitas Indonesia and Binus International Pool of English Debaters saw all of their 3 teams advancing into the knockouts. But UI is the only institution that has a shot, a very tough one, to take all spots in the grandfinal after  BIPEDS A, B, and C found themselves on the same side of the bracket. The 16 teams that broke all come from Java and they are:
